National Youth Work Awards

The 2019 National Youth Work Awards were held in the Argyle Suite of the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Glasgow. The audience were from all aspects of the Youth Work Sector in Scotland and were treated to a glittering evening hosted by the TV, Radio & often Pantomime Villain: Grant Stott.

The evening started with two talented musicians from the Edinburgh School of Music playing a selection of jazz classics while the audience took their seats. Very Rev. Dr. Lorna Hood OBE, Chair of Youthlink Scotland then welcomed everybody and talked about the work everybody undertook to make the youth of Scotland’s lives better. After the introductions a fabulous 3 course meal was served and more entertainment from the Edinburgh School of Music.

The awards ceremony began with Very Rev. Dr. Lorna Hood OBE, Chair of Youthlink Scotland introducing Grant Stott as the evenings’ Master of Ceremonies. A really uplifting speech was then given by Richard Lochhead MSP after which Grant introduced the first of the 15 Awards to be given out this evening.

The final awards given out on the evening were The Lifetime Achievement Awards given out to three individuals who have contributed immensely to Youthwork in Scotland over the years.

After the awards were completed the new Chief Executive of Youthlink Scotland took to the stage to give a speech which Brough the proceedings to a fitting conclusion.
