2014 Ryder Cup – One Year To Go

If you didn’t already know, the 2014 Ryder Cup is just around the corner, a fact marked by the 2014 Ryder Cup, One Year To Go, breakfast which took place today at Edinburgh Castle. The castle provided a spectacular backdrop to the event which was attended by some of the key members of the Ryder Cup Organising Committee, First Minister Alex Salmond and the respective Ryder Cup Captains Paul McGinlay and Tom Watson.

Whilst this was an important milestone in the journey towards Gleneagles 2014, it was also an especially important event for the visionevents team. Our involvement in the One Year To Go breakfast is another in a series of Ryder Cup/Sport related events we have produced recently, and having produced the Homecoming Scotland 2014 launch, visionevents are at the forefront of event production in the run up to what looks to be an exciting 2014 in Scotland.

Our Operations Director, Ali Robertson said:
‘2014 is shaping up to be quite a special year. I’m delighted that visionevents have been heavily involved with promoting the major events next year. Our involvement is important because it demonstrates that we are one of the most trustworthy suppliers in Scotland, and have the event production experience to manage the most high profile events.’

The event was held in the stunning surroundings of The Great Hall within Edinburgh castle. As a result, the production of the One Year To Go breakfast was clean and simple, which included a 103” plasma screen, bespoke branded lectern, trophy plinth and simple PA system. We didn’t want to take anything away from the fantastic backdrop the hall provided, and it’s a testament to the versatility of our in-house equipment that we can tailor our Audio Visual equipment provision to client’s exact needs.

With the Ryder Cup and Commonwealth Games on the horizon, it is expected that these events will significantly boost the economy and highlight Scotland as a world leading destination for events. As visionevents have offices in both Glasgow and Edinburgh, we are incredibly well placed to cope with the extra demand these events will create using our in-house event production expertise.
